Release and Tagging of American Kestrels

On August 28th, 2016, we released five American Kestrels at Buena Vista Marsh with Janet Eschenbauch and Maureen of Central Wisconsin Kestrel Research..
All of the small falcons were banded, weighed and ready to live their life in the wild. Thanks so much everyone.
They were admitted as tiny babies after their nest tree was felled.
We are continuing travel down to southern WI this afternoon for the release of Barn Swallows and Chimney Swifts. Both species have migrated from our area, so we have to catch up with their respective flocks.
Wishing all of our soon to be former patients, much success as wild birds.

Weighing, measured and banded. American Kestrels ready to be free.
