R.E.G.I. is the first stop for young osprey's obtained by the Wisconsin DNR, for the Osprey Reintroduction/Release Project on Big Muskego Lake near Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Each year the young birds spend their first few days of captivity at R.E.G.I. Here, they are stabilized, given physicals, and finally banded with USFWS bands as well as the projects color bands to identify the birds as those that were hacked from the Big Muskego Lake Project.

The young birds then travel four hours south to the hack box at Big Muskego Lake and the careful care of Biologist Bill Stout. Bill is the principle investigator on this cooperative project.
