KESHENA -- Just minutes after being released back into the wild, the large bald eagle soared overhead with another eagle.
"It's beautiful," said Marjorie Gibson, executive director of the Raptor Education Group, Inc. (REGI) of Antigo.
REGI, a non-profit organization that helps treat injured or sick birds, spent the last five months caring for a bald eagle that was found on the Menominee Indian Reservation.
The eagle, which was suffering from lead poisoning, was returned to its natural habitat Friday morning with the help of Gibson, Keshena area conservation warden Don Waukechon, and Butch Summers, who found the eagle last fall.
